So Many Ups and Downs

What up???? I made it another week haha just kidding but also kinda being serious! This week was definitely my hardest week yet and not necessarily the week but a few days were pretty hard. So many ups and downs here in the CCM but I love it! As much as I don't want to talk about how hard this week has been..I'm still going to haha but also the good parts!! Of course the good parts!

My companion has been really struggling, and to be honest its been hard on me as well. I have sat outside of the counseling office many hours just studying Spanish or reading my scriptures, which is awesome, but its been hard! One of the days this week my goal was to get her to smile, just smile! I pray so hard every night to know what to say to her or what I can to help her..but honestly there's not much I can do! She also has been having intense stomach pains and so on top of the counseling center we've been to the nurse a few times and have had to sit out on many activities because of her pain. So haha I get a lot of personal study which is awesome! I actually love it! But hard to miss out on the services projects or the fun games we get to play here!

So this week we had pro-mix which is basically where you get a Latino companion for the day and everything..EVERYTHING is in spanish. Oh boy I have never doubted my life much hahaha! I know zero Spanish literally zero Spanish hahaha! It was the hardest day of my mission so far and I know I sound like a baby but it was hard haha! I got extremely discouraged and hard on myself for the language, during lunch I was expressing how dumb I feel and how I know zero Spanish and one of the american Spanish speakers was like, "Hermana 3 weeks is not enough to know Spanish" and as simple as that was I was like oh yeah haha that's true! In the afternoon we taught my teacher and after she asked me how the lesson went, I started with well my conjugating could have been better and I didn't know these words in Spanish but she immediately said no not your Spanish the spirit. I then began to cry because that day was incredibility hard but I have never felt so much peace in my life! Everytime I teach I feel amazing! Its incredible! To have the chance to bare my testimony again and again is something so amazing! My teacher after said you didn't teach "Vanessa" (the fake investigator) you taught me today! Ahhh the spirit was so strong and so powerful! In the mission you only speak one language..not Spanish but the spirit!

Haha but whats a week without some funny stories?? Am I #right??? So this week Hermana Reynolds and I had to go back to our apartment to grab something when we couldn't get into our apartment room, our keys weren't working for some reason (hotel keys). But not thinking anything of it we just went back to class and came back at 9 at night. The keys still didn't work and we were very confused so we went to reception (which was bad because we aren't allowed to do that haha) ((past curfew)) but we sat at reception for about thirty minutes and lady was just calling a ton of people trying to help us...She eventually gave us the master key to use and we walked back and what do you know the master key didn't even work haha! So we went back to reception and at this point it was 10:30 and so she made a ton more phone calls and no one was answering. So we just sat there waiting, ps this lady was so stressed she told us this had never happened before and she didn't know what to do haha! So she said she could try to get us another room and hopefully someone could fix it later....as in three days later! But we went to this other room where I shower with nothing haha literally nothing and got back into my old clothes and the rooms we were given were old and gross so legitimately 30 cockroaches everywhere even in the bed hahaha! We went to bed living off of the clothes on our back and preach my gospel in our bag! Hahaha! We woke up a lady pounding on our door at 3 am speaking zero english hahah and telling us we can fix our door! So went back and she did fix the door and we got all our stuff back! Lol it was actually so funny because my companion were fully prepared to survive for 4 days on nothing haha! but it wasnt even a day lol

Second funny story, during a lesson I was baring my testimony and said in spanish, I know that Jesus Christ is our.." and couldn't think of another word so my companion forgetting what I said said Padre Celestial..aka Heavenly Father hahaha. My teacher immediately throws his tie over his back signifying false doctrine hahah and pulls his name tag off and says, "I'm not your teacher" hahahaha it was so funny!

Anyway sorry to sound a little negative this week! It really was a great week, great days hard hours to be honest! I love you all! The gospel is the coolest thing ever! Make it a great week like mom always says :)
